Continuing Park Improvements

Since 1991, with support from Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and the Fairmount Park Conservancy, the Friends of Bardascino Park have been active in maintaining the park and the plantings. The Friends have obtained grants for improvements and have organized free concerts and events. Parks and Recreation, with the participation of the Friends group, undertook a major renovation of the park in 1993, replacing concrete surfaces, installing new park furniture and constructing new planting beds.
